4-Arm PEG-Methacrylate is a multi-armed PEG derivative featuring methacrylate groups at the termini of its four arms, all connected to a central pentaerythritol core. This structure makes it highly suitable for radical initiator or UV light-induced polymerization, enabling the synthesis of PEG hydrogels. Additionally, the methacrylate groups can react with thiol-containing reagents through the thiol-ene reaction. To prevent self-polymerization or partial crosslinking, 4-Methoxyphenol (MEHQ) is added as an inhibitor at approximately 200 ppm. This combination of properties makes 4-Arm PEG-Methacrylate a versatile reagent for creating hydrogels and other crosslinked polymeric materials in various biomedical and materials science applications.
